Why single moms should tweet

Having just about 20 years in information technology, one might assume that I would be current on ANYTHING remotely geeky but I’m not.  I consistently pick the wrong gadgets with the wrong features and, with all of my motivational speakers trapped on cassette tapes, my transition to CD players has been a slow one (we won’t even entertain MP3 players – :| ).  In areas where electronics are concerned, I don’t feel comfortable making a purchasing decision so… I always need help. 2 Things You Can Do While Awaiting Mr. Right

The opposite of a single mom would be a married mom.  Right?  Well, after listening to the tone used when referring to single mothers, you may start  feeling like life has given you the short end of the stick.  Being a parent, mother or father, single or in a relationship comes with challenges.  Anyone responsible for raising a child  has the same goal of fitting 30 hours of tasks into 24 hours.  Having someone to support you, someone to depend on and someone to share in the cost can definitely make parenting easier, i.e.  the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child”; however,  it doesn’t necessarily have to be a significant other. Paying your way through school

Attending an accredited college or university will require that you complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Not a bad thing, as it provides a financial snapshot for which to base your eligibility for federal assistance.  Federal assistance,  in the form of college scholarships, college grants and work study programs for college student, reduce the amount you have to potentially pay out of pocket in one form or another. Online classes for busy moms

With a full time job and a daughter that seemingly adopted another sport or social club everyday of her high school life, it was difficult for me to pursue traditional methods of continuing my education.   Even if I could have maneuvered my work schedule for classes, which I couldn’t afford to do, being a single mother made it close to impossible to make it to class on time.Depressed and tired business person in work

Looking back now I realize that if it weren’t for my previous employers requiring that I take a certain number of company sponsored courses for self improvement and industry knowledge,  it would have been all too easy for me not seek additional training.  Furthermore, the fact that the the courses were directly tied to my yearly performance evaluations made completing these courses almost mandatory.
