Hi, Nellie -

Thanks for stopping by. Actually, I've looked into tax liens in the past so she's been "exposed" to some degree. Excellent point about not signing up for a 30 year mortgage or any other debt for that matter.

I am so happy for you and your daughter. And you and I know your daughter is following in your life script. May I make a suggestion? A tiny, eensy weensy suggestion? Save your daughter a life time of knocking herself out ... and look into Tax Liens. There is absolutely nothing wrong in obtaining a house ... without a 30 year mortgage. Don't you think?

What's the best advice you've received (about your finances or going back to school) as a single mom?

Thank you, Eppie, for the kind words! If she's anything like I was, at that age, she probably won't fully appreciate me until she's older. You are absolutely right though, as parents, we are more equipped to be good parents than we give ourselves credit for in the beginning.

I think it's admirable that you want to make sure your daughter doesn't miss out on the moments you had to. I hope your daughter understands that those moments were sacrificed in order to provide a good life for her -- you were in a difficult situation and you did your best to provide and parent. It sounds to me like you did a great job of balancing.

Thank you, Sandra! He's quite the handful but I'm still thrilled to have him around. Babies are pretty amazing. He's almost a month old now so it's time for Lulu to get back to work :).
